Non-Technical Skills (Error-Prevention Tools)

An effective human and organizational performance (HOP) strategy depends, in part, on providing front-line workers with mental and social skills to better anticipate, monitor, and respond appropriately during hands-on work. Error Prevention Skills provide practical means to eliminate, prevent, catch, and detect errors.  Error Prevention Skills (EPS) are a discrete set of mental and social behaviors to help people perform their actions more reliably, with less chance of error.  The purpose of EPSs is to help the individual maintain positive control.  SAT EHS&S can collaborate with you to develop methods tailored to your work and to develop and deliver related training.
